I found MLNX in my regular review of the Price % Losers on Yahoo! Finance. The strategy is to find something at the bottom of a short roller coaster ride, though once in awhile I find a solid stock that I might keep there. This one sits in the middle.

Sunday, July 25th, 2010One person taught me to buy stock in the companies you are already sending money to. This way you should get some back. I didn’t like the price of National Grid (NGG) when I was a customer, but a Motley Fool article I ran across had me given them a new look from afar and I’m in. Now let’s see how it works out.
One Things Leads to Another
Sunday, July 25th, 2010Some of my best returns have come from stocks I run across while checking up on other stocks I’m thinking of dumping. Case in point today is I ran across Synta Pharmaceuticals Corp. (SNTA) today in a Motley Fool article that also mentioned the stock I was researching (and no decision on that one, yet, so not mentioning it here). A low-price bio tech that is profitable and not buried in debt. Go figure. Volatile price, though, so I’m going to set a limit buy on a drop and hope it doesn’t drop much further, bounces back up, and skim so “free” stock out of the ride.

Thursday, July 8th, 2010DragonWave Inc. (DRWI)
Thursday, July 8th, 2010Good pitch on the Motley Fool CAPS Weekly Stock Idea for DRWI. The company’s current challenge is all of it’s business being for one customer, something that smaller companies usually suffer from. If they can pick up one more major customer, they will sky rocket. If they don’t, they could fizzle soon.
Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. (PSUN)
Wednesday, July 7th, 2010Ok, I hate when I set an alert on a stock and forget to blog why I did it. Well, this will be my reminder for PSUN. An alert hit at $3 today. Looking at the chart, it seems they have a roller-coaster history that generally bottoms at this time of year and climbs up to December. Food for thought. Retail is not my favorite sector right now. Still, tempted to buy at 2.80 and sell at 5.00

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010Came up today in an InvestorPlace article. The numbers on Yahoo! Finance look good, so I’m in when it hits $62 on a pull back.
