A Good Cheap, Lazy Strategy…Reference

In my IT blog and ezine articles I write quite extensively on things that I do instinctively, trying to codify them for others to replicate (and for the money and notoriety). On this blog, not so much. Honestly, I make it public hoping to help the reader. I originally also hoped for the reader to help me with comments, but that has yet to happen (not counting the semi-weakly offer of cheap Viagra).  But, I digress (mostly because it is fun).

What I came to blog today is a link to an educational article on planning how much to invest on given stocks. Ignoring the fact that I did better when I didn’t (because it was more a matter of when I didn’t rather than how I didn’t), I can honestly recommend reading it for your own education.

I’ve always admired the Fools, and I often wish I had spent more time following them than admiring them. Anyway, reading their books I started thinking about what fits their preachings these days, and SanDisk immediately came to mind.

So, one way I was told to search for stocks was to buy what I buy. Or, what my family buys, as I only buy stocks. And they have been downing a lot of the new V8 juice flavors these days, with a new one prompting me to go look up which conglomerate owns them. Thus, Cambpell’s moves from my shopping list to my watching list. I’m looking for them to dip below $30 for a good, cheap buy, though I think their current price is pretty reasonable to go long with.

No, and you know this if you owned Blockbuster the last few years. But what about virtual ubiquitous? Like Adobe? I picked some up at a bargain awhile back, but don’t know if I should add to it or not just yet.

Following up on my BAC watch, I ran across this Fool article which logically lumped C with BAC for the same reasons.  I’ve had my ups and downs with Citi, and hoping to get back on the ups the next time they are down, I put in a limit buy at $3.80.

Cheap, Lazy Tracking of Monsanto

I’ve had Monsanto on my radar for awhile, and now that I have recently rolled over some of my 401k to an IRA I have an account to put it in when the price is right. Question is, what is that price?

I can’t tell if I caught on to these guys too early or if it is all just smoke and mirrors.

Will BAC be a Stepping Stone or Road Block to Recovery?

They might have been too big to fail under Bush, but will having the government prevent them from upping their dividend kill the stock value long term as well as short term?
