I found MLNX in my regular review of the Price % Losers on Yahoo! Finance. The strategy is to find something at the bottom of a short roller coaster ride, though once in awhile I find a solid stock that I might keep there. This one sits in the middle.

One person taught me to buy stock in the companies you are already sending money to. This way you should get some back. I didn’t like the price of National Grid (NGG) when I was a customer, but a Motley Fool article I ran across had me given them a new look from afar and I’m in. Now let’s see how it works out.

Came up today in an InvestorPlace article. The numbers on Yahoo! Finance look good, so I’m in when it hits $62 on a pull back.

Advance America Retreating

I started watching AEA last November as a play on the decreasing borrowing power of the average debt consumer. The Foolish CAPs still like it, and Yahoo! Finance still has them predicted for a year end value over the $6 mark. But insiders have been selling down this year. I still like the business model and most of the numbers, though the debt and the insider sells worry me. What do you think? Comments welcome!

GTXI: Buy Low, Sell Higher

On 5/26/2010 GTXI dropped from 3.02 to 1.90. I picked it up at 2.01 and sold it today (6/3) for 2.50. Now if I had the intestinal fortitude to do that with lots of shares, it would have been a very good week. OTOH, I lost enough in other stocks where it would have been only an OK week. Lesson learned is that sometimes the gut is right.

AZZ Incorporated (AZZ)

AZZ caught my eye from a Motley Fool article (I find them in the strangest places..Fool articles, that is..in this case while checking on an alert about BOOM, which I also discovered through the Fools. ). One of the CAPs members posted that it was in the Hidden Gems newsletter and I like the pitch in the article. Lazy part satisfied, now looking for a pull back to satisfy the cheap. Today it is at 36.09. I’m setting an alert at 32 and hope to pick up at 30. At 5 stars and a dividend, I might consider higher.
