BlackRock Kelso Capital Corporation (BKCC)

At a gut-level risk vs reward level, I like BKCC at $6. I had set an alert for 9.5 at some point, probably based on a Motley Fool article.

AZZ Incorporated (AZZ)

Friday, May 21st, 2010

AZZ caught my eye from a Motley Fool article (I find them in the strangest places..Fool articles, that is..in this case while checking on an alert about BOOM, which I also discovered through the Fools. ). One of the CAPs members posted that it was in the Hidden Gems newsletter and I like the pitch in the article. Lazy part satisfied, now looking for a pull back to satisfy the cheap. Today it is at 36.09. I’m setting an alert at 32 and hope to pick up at 30.  At 5 stars and a dividend, I might consider higher.

JOEZ Not Average

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

The Fools are all excited about it, and the quick numbers look good, but it concerns me that they had a big rise last quarter on a tax windfall. Plus, their receivables are way up last quarter, too.

And their website is a bandwidth hog (I’m in a hotel with minimal connectivity on a wireless card).

I see this as a take over play like DEBS (a Foolish find that made me a few bucks), except they don’t have a dividend to entice me, so I’m going to lay back and wait for them to get close to $1 per share than over $2.

Foolish Take on BofA

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

I went to the Fool site today to look into LEAP (and decided not to, thanks to the CAPS). The landing page had a really interesting article on BofA. I only hope they are right as it will make me feel better for exiting early (and profitably) on that one.
